Transition Services
Under CA AB 438, transition planning and services must begin at age 14, effective July 1, 2025.
Students are required to have an Individualized Transition Plan (ITP) as part of their IEP. Transition services are activities that prepare students with disabilities to move from school to post-school life. The activities must be based on the students’ needs, preferences, and interests, and shall include needed activities in the following areas:
